LIMINAL FACE
Liminal Face is the latest opera produced by Ursus productions. Its main theme of exploration is boundaries and transformations. The title outlines the transitioning faces or rituals like hen parties, russ celebrations (traditional celebration for Norwegian high school pupils in their final spring semester) and alike when traditional society rules are taken away for a short period. PART 1 OPPNEDPASSASJEN
A play for children about transition phases and boundaries experience. A spectator is invited into a room full of mysterious constructions and sculptures which can suddenly become instruments with the most charming sounds. Direction changes and different sudden changes in the play makes public to pond over the thought of what does it mean to be in the middle of two different things, on the way over the line? Who didn’t have a body full of feeling on their first day at school? Fear, joy and excitement in a trembling combination. Something new is going to happen, something has to go forever. That’s where OPPNEDPASSASJEN stands, between the known and unknown.
